Swedish Massage is the most familiar modality of massage; this classical massage was developed by Per Henrik Ling as an important facet of health care. Swedish massage relaxes the muscles, increases circulation, and helps the recipient obtain a feeling of connectedness and awareness of their body. It incorporates long smooth strokes and utilizes specially scented and formulated oils. Swedish massage is normally given on a conventional massage table.
